A busy dietician who has been eating the Mediterranean diet for decades offers simple breakfasts.

Thornton-Wood's favorite morning food is oats, which she can make in a flash the night before.

Because they are high in protein and low in cholesterol, oats help you feel full.

According to Thorton-Wood, she has oatmeal for breakfast around five times a week.

She usually prepares the oats ahead of time but modifies each serving somewhat. Chocolate orange oats are one of her favorite foods.
